The CIU was established by Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore in December of 2023 and is led by Assistant Circuit Attorney Rachel Morgan.

Key Objectives of the Conviction Integrity Unit:

  • Review claims of actual innocence 
  • Enhance the community’s confidence in the CAO and the criminal justice system
  • Promote a culture of integrity by using best practices to reduce the likelihood of future wrongful convictions

How To Submit a Case for Review

To submit your case for review, submit a letter explaining your claim, along with supporting documentation, including affidavits, to the address listed below.


Please ensure the letter includes the following administrative information: inmate name, inmate number, case number, crime(s) convicted of and date of conviction.



Due to the number of letters we receive, it may be several months before your submission is reviewed.
