Statement from Circuit Attorney Jennifer M. Joyce regarding St. Louis Public Radio subpoena:
On Thursday, January 29, 2015, the Circuit Attorney's Office issued Grand Jury subpoenas to various media outlets in St. Louis to gather evidence regarding criminal activity that may have occurred during a meeting at City Hall the prior evening. Over the past weeks, various media have supplied valuable audio tape, video tape, photographs and other materials related to the meeting, so that a full investigation can be conducted to determine if any laws were broken as reported by various citizens.
The Circuit Attorney’s Office has been communicating with St. Louis Public Radio regarding the materials they had in their possession related to the January 28th meeting. The office has determined those materials do not enhance our investigation. Therefore, we intend to withdraw our subpoena to St. Louis Public Radio related to this incident.
This incident remains under investigation and we appreciate the cooperation we have received by the media regarding this and other criminal investigations. Anyone with any information regarding criminal conduct at this meeting, please contact our office or the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. We will notify the public if or when charges are filed related to this incident.
