Kevin Melton and Jessica Thompson have pleaded guilty to two counts of abuse of a child, armed criminal action, and endangering the welfare of a child.
In November of 2012, a three-year-old was brought to the hospital with severe burns on her feet and legs from scalding hot water. The burns were so bad the child had no skin from mid-calf down to her feet. She was not taken to the hospital until approximately two days after the incident.
The toddler also had older bruises, scratches, and other evidence of injuries on her entire body, including on her hands and behind her ears.
While she has regained full function of her legs, the scars remain.
Melton and Thompson will be sentenced on July 18th in Division 9 before Judge Maggie Neill.
